Building and Location
Our Innovation Campus
Garfield County School Of Innovation is actively seeking land or a building near Rifle Garfield County Airport to open grades 6–9 in Fall 2027 and grow to a full K–12 model.
Possible School Home Near the Rifle Garfield County Airport
GCSI is looking for land or a building near Rifle Garfield County Airport (RIL) — close enough that our Aviation Tech Lab can use the field as a living classroom: ground school, simulators, visits with instructors, and, later, flight with an FAA-certificated provider.
GCSI is looking for acreage, an existing building to repurpose, or a possible land donation for a campus that can open grades 6–9 in Fall 2027 and grow through high school. The site would need classroom and lab space, safe parking and drop-off, public-school life-safety standards, and a location in the New Castle / Silt / Rifle corridor that RE-2 families can reach.
This search is consistent with the Colorado River Valley Economic Development Partnership's interest in a wildfire-aviation and training presence at RIL.
We will keep you posted on our progress of this exciting development.
Temporary Location
GCSI is currently seeking a possible temporary location to open our first year class for grades 6–9 (until our permanent school building is built if needed), and which we can occupy immediately to offer STE³M-focused classes, competitions, and activities after-school and on all day Fridays when RE-2 is not in session. GCSI is currently exploring two separate options: one located in New Castle and another in Silt.
